From All Movie Guide: Warner has rescued a catalog favorite from video oblivion with this DVD of Looker. The widescreen, anamorphic video transfer looks excellent, offering rich colors and a finely detailed image that is miles ahead of the television and VHS versions of this title. The Dolby 2.0 Stereo mix is fairly basic but it does use Barry DeVorzon's hypnotic, synthesizer-shaded score to good effect. The disc also offers a few noteworthy extras: there is a video introduction by Michael Crichton, a full-length commentary track by Crichton and a theatrical trailer. Of these extras, the most satisfying is the commentary track: Crichton offers a steady, relaxed stream of comments that detail what inspired the film, the circumstances behind its making and some interesting self-analysis of his choices and obsessions as a writer/director.
